August: MONTH OF THE 'GROWTH, INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL.

Oristano

August 19, 2010 Dear friends and fellow Rotarians,
August is the month dedicated to the Rotary International ' expansion.

L 'Expansion has one meaning clear: to bring new members in the Club.
good intentions, of course, but who needs facts.

words, intentions are nice, but there are only restricted statements, hypothesis, theory, if not being fleshed out, transformed into concrete facts, not to render meaningless the 'commitment and the importance of being Rotarians.

From this premise comes the strong need to aim at a precise objective: the "cooptations grade , to give the club new members who have all the cards in order to give prestige to our membership.
The route is certainly difficult but not impossible. The expansion should not mean simply more Rotarians to share friendship and ideals, but that action must be necessary to increase opportunities for greater service in favor of those who are in special need.
This is the true Rotary!

We must use all our energy in finding new members, taking into account the most ethical standards and that privilege "to be and appearance.

E 'with them, we can improve the pleasure of the company, the meeting, together with the actions of service. That pleasure, in his book "My Road to Rotary," my way to the Rotary, Paul Harris, about the first meeting with three friends, back in February of 1905, so he wanted to define: "We discovered the joy of being the 'a service of them " . This
our careful search of new members also means expanding our range, to better monitor the territory, identifying partners in the charts yet discovered (and there are many ...) selecting, identifying, potential new members concerned, as we all ' future of Rotary. Members who have the necessary requirements of morality, professionalism proved, availability of the service, who wish to serve and not to use our Association.

To do this you need to know more and more about Rotary. We need to let everyone know who we are and what we want to achieve, both in the territory of our relevance in the rest of the world, through the Rotary Foundation. All this giving visibility to our actions, both when we perform humanitarian initiatives of international scope, such as the eradication of polio or the Healthy water for Africa, both when we perform 'service' designed to relieve the hardships on the our territory.
often make egregious things, but not always able to advertise to make them aware of our communities.

E 'therefore necessary to give more visibility to what we do. Not only on the Club Bulletin or on other press Rotarians. That our results should be disclosed in larger areas, using all media.
We are now at the end of our short vacation. Our recovery of September is in keeping with what has always given value to our Rotary Service.
do good to others is at the top of our commitments. In this sense we hope that the torch in 1905 by the intrepid and forward Paul Harris will never be tarnished, but there is always more to light the progress of our Association in the truest spirit of solidarity and friendship. "
you soon!

ZURI CARD: A REAL CONSTITUTION FOR THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLES AND THE FIGHT AGAINST POVERTY '.

Oristano August 2, 2010
Dear friends of Rotary, even in summer
Rotary .... walk!
On the initiative of the President this morning we attended the meeting on "The principles of the Charter of Zuri" and the crisis of Sardinia economca , held at the Hotel Su Bajon Abbasanta.
Framers of the meeting of the promoters and signatories of the Charter. Reason for calling a test - two years later - the effects produced by it.
The initial question, perhaps the most important was: what has changed in our Island after about two years after enactment of the Charter of Zuri, signed September 27, 2008, by a large group of representatives of labor and social structures ? What improvements in a region increasingly beset by unemployment, lack of jobs for young people and the poverty of many older people who struggle, after a lifetime of work, to put together the necessary to carry on?
The sad answer is no: virtually no change for the better, nothing at all for the better, certainly not even a little worse.

The Congress today, despite the heat of August, has attracted Abbasanta, in the conference room of "On Bajon," not only the signatories of the Charter two years ago, but also a large audience, put in light of the many omissions and negligence, from those policies.
journalists invited to the meeting also important from Birocchi Francis, President of the Sardinian Print by Phil Peretti, Regional President Order of Journalists and Mario Girau, Regional President of the Catholic Press Association.

We present ourselves, Rotary Club of Orissa, with President Dr. Antonio Sulis, accompanied by a delegation of Members. Our presence was necessary, above all, not only to reaffirm the importance and the sharing of the Charter, adopted in 2008, but to join - formally - to the same, apply for the formal signing.

Careful reading of that does nothing but reiterate, in fact, our Rotary principles: to fight poverty, inequality, ensuring a peaceful future to the people through better education, employment opportunities, living conditions, health. Think about it: Is not this the great workhorse of Rotary? That's why we asked to sign the charter!

Our President Dr. Sulis in his speech strongly reiterated this, not only providing support for the project to be part of our Association, but suggesting, even by a physician and president of the medical college, an enlarged meeting to other signatories of the Charter, after the summer in order to better develop the operational strategies, both in the fields of healthcare, medical and scientific, that training for young people.

Interventions have all been of great interest from the opening of Mario Medda, Regional General Secretary of CISL, and those of other union representatives, Enzo Costa for CGIL and UIL for Ticca Francesca. For the microphones are also alternate Borrotzu Don Pietro, Regional Delegate for the Pastoral Care of work, Joseph Meloni, L'Unione Sarda journalist, and journalists Birocchi first mentioned, and Peretti Girau.

In summary, it was reiterated that it will not be easy to exit from a position of stalemate, in a moment of so-called "lean" cuts in public expenditure as a powerful dark, a merciless guillotine, killed on everything and everyone, nothing and no one excluded. The Sardinia, however, without adequate support will be even more penalized for forecasts that over the next 50 years will see a further decrease in its population (about 400/mila people) may even worsen.

We think about the future if we do not want to face the depopulation of our land a desert. We must think of the young. Their future lies in education, employment and new technologies. How can we expect them to stay, not to make them leave, unless we create the conditions for They are the architects of the rebirth of our land? Think about it and struggle, all together , for us and for them. No one can hold back because Sardinia is all of us!
