Mario Wii Questionmarks

November, the month the Rotary Foundation.

Oristano

October 27, 2010 Dear friends in Rotary,

NOVEMBER AND 'THE MONTH DEDICATED TO THE ROTARY FOUNDATION.

The Arch. C. Klumph, Rotary's sixth president in 1917 establishing an endowment fund for humanitarian and educational initiatives. It was only the beginning of a great adventure.
congress in Minneapolis, 1928, the endowment fund became something more concrete, an internal structure independent of who took the name "Rotary".

After the death of Paul Harris, which took place in Chicago in 1947, the large Donations to the Foundation in his honor did the real arm of Rotary in the World. The Foundation, with such availability, launched a special program called "Ambassadorial Scholarship, and began to call the participating students" Paul Harris Fellow.
Later in 1957 the directors of the Foundation created the award of "Paul Harris Fellow, Foundation for donors who pay $ 1,000. It was a real success.

Today awarded the PHF are over one million.
Over the years the Foundation has implemented important initiatives is that local application of thick world. The most famous and important one dedicated to the eradication of Polio from the world.
A structure so important to stay updated with the times, could not stand still, static. That is why major changes now taking place: the transformation under way is the right step to get better in the future.
This transformation plan, called its "Future Vision Plan," fundamentally change the way to operate and manage the future of the Foundation.
We will have a foundation other than the one yesterday, from today, which is not yet that of tomorrow. A Rotary Foundation which will provide the most innovative and ambitious media to carry out humanitarian work in their community and abroad.
Its goals, however, not changed, as it will not change, I am sure our support. We are ready for the future, without denying anything of the past! Through the Foundation we have collected hundreds of thousands of dollars for a world without polio, we have spent countless hours to mobilize volunteers to immunize children and, after many sacrifices, we have almost achieved our objective, we have come a few steps from the goal. We must persevere and be even tougher for the future and the new "Future Vision Plan" will take us in new challenges.
A those who say that the Foundation calls too, that our commitment is fairly costly, I would point out some significant information.
Worldwide one billion people suffer from malnutrition and more than 20,000 human beings die every day from hunger. Over one billion people lack access to safe drinking water and every five minutes a child goes blind. Approximately 880 million adults can not read or write and 42 million people are infected with HIV-AIDS. Millions suffer from tuberculosis and other infectious diseases. And if that were not enough, 20 wars in which more than 300,000 child soldiers fighting, forcing 35 million people to flee and seek refuge in other countries. These are the numbers more meaningful that should prompt us to reflect Rotarians, we can not, we must not flinch, we can not afford to lose this challenge if we really believe in that "service" for which we have entered the Rotary. Otherwise we are just a facade Rotarians!
But I believe that we often lack the conviction of the utility of the Foundation: a thing that we often forget is that we do not give ourselves "to" but we give Foundation "through" the Foundation !
The RF is, dear friends, is the tool that allows all of us, with a little sacrifice, to do great things, which alone can never achieve! We
believe, all together, because the message that Rotary Paul Harris has left us is that of service to be available to give to others without expecting a return.
"Serve" means to deprive us of selfishness in Rotary, reach out to others means to promote the culture of the gift, capable of merging the belief of homo economicus with that homo donator, allowing, thus, to satisfy the strong need for greater social development, greater equality among all peoples of the world. This
our behavior open to solidarity, aimed at the most disadvantaged, is, after the friendship, the true purpose Rotary. Within the perspective of wanting to meet new challenges of the third millennium we find the new strategy of our Association which, through the operating arm of the RF, will face new challenges to the problems of globalization.
This is our next project of life, practical application of the "philosophy of Rotary," which will, as we know, the following priorities:
- emergency water
- health,
- hunger,
- literacy.
The Foundation is preparing for an unprecedented change, to exploit new opportunities and bring the Rotary to achieve new results towards goals unattained before.
A Foundation for the Future ", even more efficient and ready to respond to major challenges, thanks to the enthusiastic support and participation of all Rotarians.
The Foundation must not forget also pressing ahead with a great goal that can easily be translated with the motto: "Doing good in the world."
try, dear friends and girlfriends to do the most good possible, wherever we are and the means at our disposal. This is our commitment!
Thank you!
Mario

Are Beauty Contests Harmful?

our loving farewell to Antonio Arcese, GOVERNOR OF OUR PAST-DISTRICTS OF THE YEAR 2003/2004.

Oristano October 22, 2010

Dear friends, mourning the recent
throughout our District to the untimely death of our Past Governor Antonio Arcese sad all of us. It 'was a true Rotarian we all have a lot. I, in particular, that I was his assistant of the Governor, in the year 2003.2004, I think I have against a particular esteem. Here, for better understanding of all, a brief resume his memorial.

Mario
******************************

Antonio a few days left us. We are still in disbelief that it is no longer among us: He that Rotary had made his second home, his great love. We are confident, however, that none of us easily forget.
Antonio Arcese, was born July 31, 1935 in Frosinone, where he lived. Ione married to Gianna Bossi had two children: Fabian, a lawyer in Frosinone and Giampiero, fashion designer.
always attracted by the career in journalism from the university already had become a correspondent for "Time", the Corriere della Sera, of the 'Agency Italy. In the newspaper "Il Tempo" collaborated for ten years and yet now he was regularly enrolled in the Order of Journalists, public register. After initial news
parentheses worked in the textile industry, where he was a manager for about twenty-eight years at the American textile industry Klopman International SpA, first as Managing Director of Human Resources and Foreign Relations and later as Director-General Industrial. For three four-year he served as Vice President of the Industrial Union of Frosinone, and President of Advanced Tertiary Section, also in Frosinone.
During his career, also held other important and prestigious posts, which allowed him to expand in Ireland Tunisia, North Carolina, etc.. Beyond the commitments in the Company held a social activity in its territory, President of the Cultural Association "National Award Ciociaria" and co-founder and board member of the Circle "Civis", as well as Vice President of Sports Club "Park Club.

Antonio became part of the Rotary Club in Fiuggi in 1991. As part of your Club has always been involved in many service jobs: Director, Vice President and then President in the year 1995-96. Subsequently it was still vice president for two more times and President of various committees (Vocational Service, Club Service, International Action). Several times a member of district committees, in the year 2001.2002 held the functions of Assistant Governor Antonio Lico. With this curriculum respectable Antonio Arcese was elected Governor for the Rotary year 2003-2004. then continued to give his experience to the District: District Magistrate in the years 2005.06, 2006.07 and 2007.08. Over the years 2009.10 and this year was President of the district. This bright
his employment history and the Rotary! Thanks Antonio of your commitment and your dedication to Rotary, to many of us have learned so much.

Personally I owe him a lot. When he prepared the team of his year of governorship, the year 2003.04, asking nothing, called me and told me he wanted to entrust the job of Assistant to the Governor. I do not know what prompted him to do so and, while concerned about the delicacy of the task, I agreed.
was an important year: it was the first time the Rotary International put at the top of its organization an African president, Jonathan B. Majiyagbe, Nigeria. His motto was "LEND A HAND" Lend a Hand, referring to those who need us all Rotarians. Antonio's commitment was formidable. I knew, so, a remarkable man: careful, alert, able to arouse enthusiasm and love for the service. His incentive to improve, to give the best of us, was summarized as follows: The Rotarian must be good to train, inform Is involved.
using new strategies for training could create a strong and capable team, building on our Rotary District a more up to date. He and I grew a lot with this experience meant that I was confirmed in his role as assistant during the two subsequent years. Thank you dear Antonio
of your wonderful friendship! His wife Gianna who accompanied and supported also in the path Rotary I mean: Gianna, do not cry! You were a wonderful companion to a great man who will not be forgotten. He will live forever not only yours but in the hearts of us all, always remember the lessons on.

How Big Were Your Breast When You Were 13

October, the month that Rotary PROFESSIONAL DEDICATION TO ACTION.

Oristano October 3, 2010
Dear Friends,

we move quickly, towards the end of the first half of this' Rotary year.
October is the month dedicated to the Rotary International 'Vocational Service, one of the four, even five-way action of goodwill.

As you know the resolution of the 2010 Council the "Four Avenues of Rotary original" have become five .

At four classic original "Streets" listed under Club: Club Service , Vocational Service, Community Service and Action International has been added a survey of youth Action for New Generations.

The month of October is the month dedicated to Action and then Professional.

What does the Rotary with this action? What is essentially asking Rotary to Rotarians, Rotarians at all?

We Rotarians are mostly professionals in professional action is, in practice, the way we run our daily occupation. RI encourages Rotarians to serve others through their professions by applying high ethical standards. Our commitment is to share our skills and experience and in so doing set an example, a source of inspiration for others. Our behavior in the profession or in daily life should always be based on a rigorous ethically and professionally. In our commitment to Rotary, this behavior is genuine and not selfish, it is encrypted, making it a true "Action", which can be expressed not only in projects aimed at local and national communities, but also take an international dimension, through the projects WCS (World Community Service) program and the Volunteers of RI "and" Bags of Peace. "
Every year in October to celebrate the Rotary Vocational Service Month, during which they are highlighted projects sponsored by the RI in this area and is offered to clubs and districts, the ability to initiate new programs for "service" .
Paul Harris said: "Of the one hundred and one ways in which men can make themselves useful to society without a doubt the most accessible and often the most effective fall within the scope of their employment."
To standardize the behavior of Rotarians on their workplace in 1989, the Council on Legislation enacted the so-called "Declaration of Rotarians in Businesses and Professionals" in the belief that it represents for us an important opportunity for reflection. Here is the text, always very timely .

"As a Rotarian engaged in a business or profession, are required to:

1) considering my vocation to be another opportunity to serve;

2) observe, in the form as the substance of the code of ethics of my profession, the laws of my country and the moral standards of my community;

3) do everything possible to practice my profession in a more dignified and promote respect for the most high ethical standards in the profession I had chosen;

4) be loyal to my employer, my employees, associates, competitors, customers and the general public, as well as all those with whom I have an employment or profession;

5) recognize the dignity and look with the respect due to all occupations which are useful to society;

6) make available my vocational talents: to provide employment opportunities to young people, help others in solving particular problems, and improve the quality of life in my Community

7) to adhere to principles of honesty in my advertising, and whenever I have to represent my business in public my business or profession;

8) not seek or grant to a fellow Rotarian a privilege or benefits that are not normally granted to other people as part of a business or professional relationship. "

With the recognition of "New Generations" Fifth Avenue of the Rotary, take even more depth the contents of Article 6) of the Declaration : "... to provide the professional skills to provide opportunities employment for young people .... "

Action Professional fact, should not be regarded as exclusive appreciation of professionalism established, but as a fundamental aid for the development of skills of young people and especially for those young people who belong to weaker sections of the population.
spreading awareness of the professions within the Club events but we also face outwards to facilitate the comparison of views, exchange of information and the approach to the world of work and professions, especially young people. Our task is to disseminate concepts and values \u200b\u200bRotarians outside, in business and professions, and, above all, to make available to the territory our young people and their knowledge and skills. There are many initiatives that can be implemented.

Three guidelines on which to operate:
a) orientation to work, through moments of reflection for the young students of the area, so that they can choose the university path with greater awareness and method;
b) short seminars for young graduates and undergraduates, not necessarily just in schools, in order to enrich their professional knowledge with the acquisition of soft skills in all professions;
c) mini-workshops taught by professionals led Rotarians, for young people so that they can understand more numerous the different facets and aspects of the various professions.

Dear friends, this is in summary what we can and must do to avoid the tragedy of the young, discouraged by the inertia of our world, only able to feed them without giving them those longing for wings to fly: not forget that with our help they can become eagle, capable of flying high!

reflect, let's make sure there are no simple feeding chickens in a coop of our house, how big and rich.
Let us develop in their wings to fly.

meditation ... really!
