How Big Were Your Breast When You Were 13

October, the month that Rotary PROFESSIONAL DEDICATION TO ACTION.

Oristano October 3, 2010
Dear Friends,

we move quickly, towards the end of the first half of this' Rotary year.
October is the month dedicated to the Rotary International 'Vocational Service, one of the four, even five-way action of goodwill.

As you know the resolution of the 2010 Council the "Four Avenues of Rotary original" have become five .

At four classic original "Streets" listed under Club: Club Service , Vocational Service, Community Service and Action International has been added a survey of youth Action for New Generations.

The month of October is the month dedicated to Action and then Professional.

What does the Rotary with this action? What is essentially asking Rotary to Rotarians, Rotarians at all?

We Rotarians are mostly professionals in professional action is, in practice, the way we run our daily occupation. RI encourages Rotarians to serve others through their professions by applying high ethical standards. Our commitment is to share our skills and experience and in so doing set an example, a source of inspiration for others. Our behavior in the profession or in daily life should always be based on a rigorous ethically and professionally. In our commitment to Rotary, this behavior is genuine and not selfish, it is encrypted, making it a true "Action", which can be expressed not only in projects aimed at local and national communities, but also take an international dimension, through the projects WCS (World Community Service) program and the Volunteers of RI "and" Bags of Peace. "
Every year in October to celebrate the Rotary Vocational Service Month, during which they are highlighted projects sponsored by the RI in this area and is offered to clubs and districts, the ability to initiate new programs for "service" .
Paul Harris said: "Of the one hundred and one ways in which men can make themselves useful to society without a doubt the most accessible and often the most effective fall within the scope of their employment."
To standardize the behavior of Rotarians on their workplace in 1989, the Council on Legislation enacted the so-called "Declaration of Rotarians in Businesses and Professionals" in the belief that it represents for us an important opportunity for reflection. Here is the text, always very timely .

"As a Rotarian engaged in a business or profession, are required to:

1) considering my vocation to be another opportunity to serve;

2) observe, in the form as the substance of the code of ethics of my profession, the laws of my country and the moral standards of my community;

3) do everything possible to practice my profession in a more dignified and promote respect for the most high ethical standards in the profession I had chosen;

4) be loyal to my employer, my employees, associates, competitors, customers and the general public, as well as all those with whom I have an employment or profession;

5) recognize the dignity and look with the respect due to all occupations which are useful to society;

6) make available my vocational talents: to provide employment opportunities to young people, help others in solving particular problems, and improve the quality of life in my Community

7) to adhere to principles of honesty in my advertising, and whenever I have to represent my business in public my business or profession;

8) not seek or grant to a fellow Rotarian a privilege or benefits that are not normally granted to other people as part of a business or professional relationship. "

With the recognition of "New Generations" Fifth Avenue of the Rotary, take even more depth the contents of Article 6) of the Declaration : "... to provide the professional skills to provide opportunities employment for young people .... "

Action Professional fact, should not be regarded as exclusive appreciation of professionalism established, but as a fundamental aid for the development of skills of young people and especially for those young people who belong to weaker sections of the population.
spreading awareness of the professions within the Club events but we also face outwards to facilitate the comparison of views, exchange of information and the approach to the world of work and professions, especially young people. Our task is to disseminate concepts and values \u200b\u200bRotarians outside, in business and professions, and, above all, to make available to the territory our young people and their knowledge and skills. There are many initiatives that can be implemented.

Three guidelines on which to operate:
a) orientation to work, through moments of reflection for the young students of the area, so that they can choose the university path with greater awareness and method;
b) short seminars for young graduates and undergraduates, not necessarily just in schools, in order to enrich their professional knowledge with the acquisition of soft skills in all professions;
c) mini-workshops taught by professionals led Rotarians, for young people so that they can understand more numerous the different facets and aspects of the various professions.

Dear friends, this is in summary what we can and must do to avoid the tragedy of the young, discouraged by the inertia of our world, only able to feed them without giving them those longing for wings to fly: not forget that with our help they can become eagle, capable of flying high!

reflect, let's make sure there are no simple feeding chickens in a coop of our house, how big and rich.
Let us develop in their wings to fly.

meditation ... really!
