March, the month dedicated by Rotary literacy.

Oristano March 4, 2011

Dear friends, The Rotary year

walking fast. Here we come to march in the Rotary calendar that is dedicated to the priority theme of Literacy. Rotary International since 1985 has dedicated a month of the year, the eradication of illiteracy. He wanted to establish not only to improve your knowledge, teaching to read and write, but with the aim of achieving an even more important in a world with more knowledge, true peace and harmony among all peoples of the earth.
The goal, unfortunately, today is still far away. Worldwide, there are eight hundred million people who can not read and write (two thirds are women), three-quarters of whom live in developing countries, and approximately 75 million children are illiterate, yet they do not know what it means to go in school and who are exploited or forced to engage in work to help the family.

Free the world from the scourge of illiteracy means ensuring every individual the right to life and protection of their dignity, lifting it from that form of slavery and psychological subjection towards those who are educated. In summary

make each individual self-aware and capable their rights.
The central staff of Rotary International, with regard to literacy, has put together a nimble and efficient. It oversees thousands of projects to major projects such as building schools, training teachers, the care for young children. The 'Group of Resources for Literacy "is composed of a Coordinator and a Deputy Coordinator International, 6 Regional Coordinators from 39 area coordinators and a coordinator for each district. A capillary structure, able to intervene operatively in all countries in need.
Other resource group, similar structures, there are large teams for health care, hunger, poverty and the precariousness of life of all developing countries.
We Rotarians must continue to support this great effort, we feel more committed to spreading literacy that degrades and humiliates. All we can and must contribute.
Nelson Mandela, the first African President of color that managed to defeat apartheid, argued that "A country whose future leaders have not studied is a country that can not be successful."
We too in our club, Oristano, try to do our part with dignity. After the important contribution financial assistance of the Rotary Foundation, the next step will be the opening of the relief structure, "The Point Rotary," that shortly begin its operation on the premises of the Capuchin Friars in Via San Martino in Oristano.
Certainly a small "point", but it does not matter. Let us never forget that the sea is made up of many small drops of water that together make up oceanic masses.
Thank you!
is now our Secretary of the letter with the calendar of our commitments in March.

you soon!

Mario

THE ROTARY FOUNDATION AND ITS BENEFACTORS AWARDS: THE PAUL HARRIS FELLOW.

Oristano February 21, 2011

Dear friends,

Saturday 19th we worthily celebrated our 43rd anniversary, the qualified representative of the other service clubs operating in Oristano (Lions and Soroptimist) and delivery to several Past-President, the Treasurer and the Secretary of the Club "Paul HarrisFellow.
This year it was possible to assign a good number of these "awards" in virtue of our commendable effort to provide the Rotary Foundation the last means to declare officially closed and won a difficult battle against polio in the world.
I've been in transit for a PHF as Past President of the Club, but since mine was "a little different" from others delivered (I had previously received other PHF by the district for district offices held), not a few members who do not know the history of this award have asked me some explanations.
This fact has prompted me to report on this online newspaper, the long and prestigious history of the establishment and spread worldwide recognition of "Paul Harris".
is the story.

The highest award that Rotary International gives its supporters through its most important operating arm, the Rotary Foundation, is the "Paul Harris Fellow, whose acronym also identifies the PHF in non-Rotarians, given its unusual distribution.
stems from what this prestigious recognition that the world has been given to the most important people both political and economic and social changes that have been shown to recognize the values \u200b\u200band ideals of Rotary? It was founded after the death of our founder, Paul Harris, and accompanies the birth and evolution of its maximum operating arm: The Rotary Foundation.

few years after the founding of Rotary, as we all know took place in Chicago February 23, 1905, Paul Harris is increasingly convinced of the validity of his far-sighted idea of \u200b\u200bthe growing number of accessions and by the strong expansion of the association also outside of the United States. This growth, in some ways unexpected, leads to the Rotary quickly become "international", thus enhancing its value as a "service", coming from the goodness and the quality of his ideas, in short his "philosophy of service."

To better fulfill this function of "service" in 1917, Rotary's sixth president, Arch C. Klumph, decides to establish a financial reserve aside, a separate "endowment fund" reserved for humanitarian and educational initiatives. This forward-looking idea, it is only the beginning of a great adventure and will prove to be the "seed" of the more robust structure that is realized in a short time.
Ten years later, Congress in Minneapolis in 1928, the endowment fund became something more concrete, an internal structure, financially independent, who took the name "Rotary".
initial appropriations and donations were not very fruitful. After the death of Paul Harris, which took place in Chicago in 1947, however, the huge donations made in honor of the Foundation did the real arm of Rotary in the World. On that occasion Rotarians contribute a verse to The Rotary Foundation of $ 2 million.

The force of the Foundation with the great availability receipts rose. For young people launched a special program called "Ambassadorial Scholarship", starting to call the participating students "Paul Harris Fellow.
The operation was a success. The level of awareness and dissemination of the title "Paul Harris Fellow" encourages the Foundation to use it better. In 1957 his visionary directors created an official statement that acknowledged the title of "Paul Harris Fellow, Foundation donors who pay $ 1,000.
To encourage the repetition of donations, whether by individuals, the initial recognition, consists of a scroll and a badge with the portrait of Paul Harris, was enriched with the inclusion of some of the distinctive gemstones: sapphires and rubies, reflecting the repeated donation. Today
PHF have 10 degrees, 10 levels of value, from the simple to the first payment of 1,000 (thousand) dollars in the last one that shows the payment of 10,000 (ten thousand) dollars.
Here is the sequence:

first • $ 1,000 - $ 2,000 from distinctive
• - •
a sapphire from $ 3,000 - two sapphires
• from $ 4,000 - three sapphires from
• $ 5,000 - four sapphires
• from $ 6,000 - five sapphires
• from $ 7,000 - a ruby \u200b\u200b
• from $ 8,000 - two rubies
• from $ 9,000 - three rubies

"great gift" means a minimum contribution of $ 10,000 paid by an individual or a couple. All donations paid to the Foundation by a donor or a pair are counted in order to receive this award, regardless of cause or mode of payment ..
donors who so request can enrich the badge with a diamond.
There are different levels of recognition, depending on the donation:
Level Contribution (USD)

2 - 25,000 to 49,999
3 - 50,000 to 99,999
4 - 100,000 to 249,999

Arch C. Klumph Society.
Donors whose cumulative donations are $ 250,000 qualify for the Arch C. Klumph Society. Those who qualify will be invited to an inauguration ceremony in the RI Headquarters in Evanston, during which their portraits and their biography will be applied in the interactive gallery of the Arch C. Klumph Society. The members of the Arch C. Klumph Society also receive an invitation to special events the Society, together with pins and crystals affiliation to commemorate the contributions of all levels.
Level Contribution (USD)
Circle Foundation and more than 1 million
Club President from 500,000 to 999,999
Circle of directors from 250,000 to 499,999.

Since then, every year, in memory of our great founder, in the various clubs in the world are assigned in relation to payments made to the RF, these prestigious awards, giving the title of a Paul Harris "(PHF) to whom, Rotary or Rotary," it is particularly distinct, with his profession, with its activity and availability, to bear witness to the validity of the principles and actions of the Rotary Foundation, helping to spread understanding and friendly relations between the exponents of the various activities and the achievement of world peace.
Today awarded the PHF are over one million.
Here are the figures at 30 June 2008 (latest available).

Paul Harris: 1,126,784
Benefactors: 77,776
Major Donors: 10,105
In all these years, thanks to continued contributions, the Foundation has implemented important initiatives is that local application of Thick world.
The most famous and important, as we all know, the one dedicated to the eradication of Polio from the world that our District will celebrate in a few days with great joy!

All in Rome on February 23!
The history of PHF is a great and beautiful story!
Thank you, dear friends, your always welcome attention.

Dear friends,
believe that adding more to this prestigious scholar, who has always wanted a great asset to our Sardinia, is completely unnecessary.
This love for our island is far from what transpired wanted to expose ourselves in very interesting conference.
He wanted, above all, bring out the lights and shadows of our problems: because our development is held back and everything, however, and we have to do to get out of trouble.
In a society that now lives in good and evil "globalization" is not isolating or creating barriers that we to improve the situation. E 'valuing ourselves, our products, our resources, we can, indeed, compete on equal terms and with conviction in world markets.
E 'advertising' our product quality, "giving him a strong recognition and full and fair value, we can ensure that it is compared with others and win the challenge.
only way the future will be less gray and less precarious, and our young people can fully play the role they deserve and that today, however, have not. The only way to avoid the brain drain in search of employment, often only precarious.
All of us, practitioners and professionals from business, we have a great responsibility: to work together in this direction to turn in our favor a game that would otherwise be lost from the start. The Rotary and his men have a duty to accept this challenge.
Thanks Prof. Savona His scholarly discussion of this and inducements to this "doing".
A warm applause greeted the end of the speech, which was followed over the deep gratitude, the exchange of traditional gifts.
President Dr. Antonio Sulis on behalf of all the Club has honored Prof. Savona with the awarding of Paul Harris Fellow, with a Sapphire, the maximum expression of honor at the Rotary. Our President then, beyond the banner to the club, wanted to give Him honor of my book "ROTARY INTERNATIONAL, sociological study of a nonprofit association of professionals," This year our District has wanted to print, especially for new Rotarians to raise awareness of our association and that is the result of my thesis university.
conference so interesting that I hope can be further proposals at our Club
Greetings to all

FEBRUARY, THE MONTH OF UNDERSTANDING INTERNATIONAL (WORLD UNDERSTANDING MONTH).

Oristano January 22, 2011

Dear friends of Rotary,

Rotary International has dedicated the month of February to understanding and peace between peoples , and that by reason of the fact that in February, the day 23 marks the birth date of our Association, the day Paul Harris made the first meeting with three friends who c on him were the founders, the builders of the Rotary .

We all know since our entry into the Rotary, one of the main goals of our association is to "propagate understanding and peace to ivello internationally through the worldwide spread of friendly relations between persons carrying on various business and professional, united in common purpose and willingness to serve. "

month's "World Understanding" is therefore an opportunity for each Rotarian to reflect on the fourth point of the objective of Rotary, ie "promote understanding, tolerance and peace between peoples through an association in tional professionals and entrepreneurs together the ideal of service. "

To reinforce this commitment GNO in the 1921 International Congress held in Edinburgh, Scotland, it was determined that the main purpose Rotary was to be the Action Intern ational .

Friendship then, the Rotary, structured on a worldwide basis between businessmen and professionals united in the serve with the main aim is to "serve with" not locally but internationally. Friendship with a real big goal, to encourage and promote the advancement of international understanding, goodwill, tolerance, through a renewed friendship, exchanged without distinction of race, creed, or other differences. That's essentially what it means for the Rotary Action International. "

This means that all Rotarians must feel rinn ovata awareness of their role in society by committing to implement schemes valid action for peace, to serve humanity, contribute to improving the lives of all peoples of the earth.

The ancient Chinese wisdom, through his most famous prophet Confucius, expressed it this way: "Friends gather in a favorable location and with the help of others am prepare ici humanity's progress. These words anticipate not think of many centuries of Rotary and it seems that already by that time had been anticipated the advent of Rotary and its global mission.

Rotary's strength lies in the willingness and capacity of its members to overcome selfishness and the "interest eg rsonale" to serve humanity regardless of race, culture and religion professed , sup Erandio national schemes with a broader vision to the world.

How to succeed in this great and wonderful work of employment?

actions that Rotary has reserved for this purpose are mol Teplice:

the sponsorship of a fellow anti-polio campaign, the Exchange Young people to the realization of a project WCS (World Community Service).

The exchange of students between different countries, the fellows, the Rotary volunteers and participants of the Study Groups to trade all contribute in different ways, but equally important, to achieve that end. Every Rotarian can become an "ambassador of friendship and peace" if promotes contacts with colleagues from other countries. As they finally Rotarians around the world with the contributions to the RF actually serves to improve the living conditions and give hope to many in the world that ' have lost.

international initiatives as the "PolioPlus", which changed the course of history, leading to almost complete eradication of polio from the world's efforts to provide drinking water to all countries, more than two literacy billion people who today can not read or write, pick up from the many hungry people around the world who die from malnutrition and disease, are carried out by Rotary with great pride and determination. Such initiatives will help bring all people to a level of social equality, moral and intellectual, which he hoped Paul Harris Feb. 23, 1905 when he thought of bringing together a group of friends and talked with them for the first time, the program of Rotary.

This year, just this month of February, all join together to celebrate a wonderful idea: that of our visionary founder P. Harris, that after 105 years still seems far more current then in February of 1905.

World peace is still far away but we stubbornly pursue this goal with vigor and determination.

Mario.

......................................

Now, the letter from our Secretary with the timetable of commitments for the month of February.

I hope we will all be present at the "Festival" of our birthday on February 19th!

I embrace you all.

Mario

SA SARDIGNA IN ON PRO CAMINU TRABALLU. RI President-elect

Oristano January 21, 2011
Dear friends,

today we wanted to be present, together with other political and social forces of the territory, to remember aloud the great dissatisfaction with the sad situation that is gripping and Sardinia Sardis: the lack of resources, the lack of development and the promise to fight poverty which continues to remain a dead letter.

Rotary Oristano has joined the voices of other representatives of working life (CGIL, CISL and UIL) the business of agriculture and all other political and social forces, to claim firmly that no change will be the end .

I accompanied the President of our club, Dr. Antonio Sulis, and together we marched with all the other forming a large parade and mileage (there were over 2.ooo people), which is articulated with seriousness and composure starting by Zuri, site of the signing of the first meeting and the first proclamation, became known as the "Charter of Zuri, and reaching Ghilarza, where the foot of the Torre Aragonese representatives of various organizations reported strong dissatisfaction with the whole situation that shows no signs of improvement.

all sincerely hope that something moves. We hope that the wisdom that should characterize our representatives in the institutions, will prevail and move a stagnant situation for too long!

Sardinia is time relying, indeed, his rights. Those rights by too long denied to all the Sardinians.

Thank you.

Hatchet Vs Genitals Hatchet

The COOP is you

I wake up coughing Alex, then I feel that Matt turns around in bed.
I try to sleep again, but I can not, look at the phone, they are four in the morning and I know that I can not sleep!
For years, I wake up at 3:30 in the morning to go to work (I am not a baker), no matter which party is today, the habit of taking the upper hand, basking under the sheets to stay up late and only a fond memory.
I also know that at this point the mind begins to "machine", the problems there, we live in a house in four of 65 square meters, children begin to be large, there are more.
When we chose to live here, we came to a difficult situation, Seizure of property in the apartment due to a bad story.
decided not to seek a home in a condominium, where small children could move without disturbing any condominiums, the choice was apt, eight years have been wonderful from that point of view, but now things have changed, increasingly resembles a bivouac.
To bring our furniture to housing we have removed the doors from the bed I just reach out to touch the hair of Alex.
No! They begin to be large, need some 'privacy.
But where to go with the rents today, already € 600.00 we pay now are many.
I think .... postpone such payments to make ends of the month.
I think .... how can it be possible to work 10 hours a day for a salary that makes you not make ends meet.
I think .... the cost of living is not justified!
I realize that I'm thinking too much!
this is not good ... I can not sleep again.
I remember when I was a kid (late 60s early 70s) my parents were members of the COOP, my mother was shopping in a store in a small provincial town where we lived.
I remember he had a gray booklet where the cashier wrote the amount of expenditure, this was a soldier every weekend, when my father was a small agricultural cooperative workers received pay (at the time the workers were paid weekly), the memory I thought then, is the feeling of entering into something of my own, the slogan "YOU ARE THE COOP" was real!
(What balls are still awake!)
remember the strikes in over those years, and my question for children "daddy because you do not strike" the answer was "because I work in a cooperative and a cooperative member , as would strike against themselves. " This thing but I was not so clear!? It asked for confirmation "So also is open to the COOP?"
Today, our politicians and businessmen are proposing this idea, who strike you hurt yourself, as part of the system, leaving a small particular, that did not administer the coop but through years of spa
Then I understood what she meant my father.
The cooperative and the place where, beyond the different responsibilities, all have equal, if there is a real problem it solves all! But this probably is part of the communist ideology that the "enlightened liberals" of today put to shame by giving voice only to markets and budgets,
now entering a shop co-op do not feel anything (maybe I was jaded?), And how to enter any store of any brand.
You think to confess that I get with the newspaper of the coop, positive, of rebates to owners of all the multitude of promotions, discounts, and whatever else you want, and I wonder?
Who knows ... if my parents (one of the founders of the coop), disappeared a few years, considering a financial group with banking insurance, etc. ... or were content in their ignorance of a poor society of "mutual aid" formed by the working partners and consumer members!?
wonder ... what would they think of union demands in the cooperative.
Who knows .... What do you think 20% discount on the "no food" as the "food" is the roof?
Who knows .... what would they think of lettuce to 4000 pounds per kg.
... Who knows what they would think of apples in 3000 lire per kg.
Who knows .... what they would think at least 2000 pounds of bread per kg
Who knows. ... What is that idea of \u200b\u200bmaking the necessary futile with promotions and discounts!?
I see light outside, just do not take it anymore, you can not start the day pissed off!
get out of bed and go to the bathroom ... ...
